You can also install the kext file inside /S/L/E but I prefer to have it inside my EFI folder for future reference.

Copy RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext inside /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.11 or /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other or use Kext utility to install it to /System/Library/Extensions

Install the Bear Extender wireless utilityĢ. Remove any other network management applications you already have,ġ. You can only use the kext inside the DMG file at first and see how it goes with the You also might need to add a kext to the EFI folder which I will post it as well. I will post some screen shots later because I don't have access to my computer right now. I cannot connect to the WLAN because I cannot configure the adapter in Network in System Preferences!!!!īear Extender 5.4 has it's own network connection window.

Here are some typical driver install instructions! you need to be able to connect and configure.

The Bear Extender interface is either "connected" or gives you a link to Network Settings - The heart of the issueĪs I mentioned. I was really hoping someone might be able to help me get this thing connected! The issue imo has absolutely nothing to do with those! The Adapter works fine in Windows so it's not a hardware issue either with Bear Extender, Go-USB and even DLinks own interface. It is NOT! I have tried this setup in both Sierra and EL Capitan and the issue is exactly the same. ie in Network Settings, then you are met with NO Wireless NIC plugin!!! The problem here is that in Network settings I'm infored a Cable is unplugged. the adapter working via DHCP in Network Settings! In other wrods you need to have connectivity - hence this post!īear externder and other menubar items like it simply allow you to connect to a network via a wifi connection! If you cannot get the connection. You need to have the connection first - ie. Here it is!!! I forgot to include this with the original post!!! It's installed and running! NO NETWORK INTERFACE! Use bear extender 5.4 it will solve you'r problem,Īl though you'll need to use the bear extender interface to connect to the network rather than the Network preferences pane. Is there something in Clover I need to enable or disable? I am really stumped with this and having gotten nowhere on another forum (really not to many replies) decided to give it a try here.

I have even gone to the extent of re-installing EL Capitan to a separate partition and booting to it to troubleshoot, test different drivers etc. I Cannot do a network diagnostic on it as the Wi-Fi option is permanently greyed out! I have tried and tried to get DHCP to activate - simply not happening! I have pluggeed it into almost every USB socket on my Z87X board and still the message persists. but I cannot connect and am plagued with this Cable Unplugged message. The driver is installed okay, The DOngle blinks, the n11 Adapter is recognised in Network Settings. I am attaching a screenshot so you can see for yourself exactly what the issue is. Hi,I hope someone can help with this issue as it has been bugging me for more than a month now.
